Caring for the fabric:

Gabardine is a thin, lightweight, nearly transparent polyester fabric of moderate density with a matte surface.
The threads in gabardine intertwine diagonally at an angle of 45 to 63 degrees, giving the fabric a pattern of fine diagonal stripes.
